A book can leave you with a lot of good ideas and no obvious place to start. A full day has room for one small thing, and one small thing is enough to begin.
The Same-Day Moves sheet holds six of them, one from each practice in the book. Each is something you can do before you go home today, whatever your role.
Take one message you are about to send and cut it to the one thing the reader needs to know. Ask one real question in your next conversation, and let the answer change what you do. Reach out to someone when nothing is wrong, just to make contact. Tell the story behind one fact, so people feel what it meant. Send one message in a form every family can read, at the same time as everyone else. On a hard day, say the true thing plainly, and say when you will know more.
Each move is a single deposit into the trust account. Choose the one that fits the day in front of you, and make it. Tomorrow, choose another.
That is how the practices in the book actually start. You do one small thing today, and then again the next day, until it is simply how you work. The sheet keeps the six moves where you can see them, so choosing one is easy.
